Ceremony and Party:

Both the ceremony and party will be held at the Brooklyn Museum on May 21, 2011

The ceremony begins at 7pm (officiated by Karen's uncle, Harry Hoffer!) and will be directly followed by the party!!

Dress up as much as you wish - we're making this black tie optional.

Hotel Arrangements:

We have reserved blocks of rooms in two hotels:
The Downtown Brooklyn Marriott
We've got the block until April 25 at $179 per night, which is really reasonable for New York.
The Downtown Manhattan Marriott
(which is probably more convenient for sight-seeing) is $189 per night. Both Marriots are in great locations; just a few subway stops away from the museum.

Our NYC Visitor's Tips:

*Sam Sifton wrote a great article, 36 Hours in Brooklyn.

*Chowhound on the Top "essential" New York Restaurants from $ to $$$$.

Karen and Mike love Lucali's pizza in Carroll Gardens, Great Jones Cafe in the East Village for drinks and blackened catfish, Clover Club in Cobble Hill for fancy cocktails, Bar Tabac in Cobble Hill for burgers, brunch at Buttermilk Channel in Carroll Gardens, and Caracas Arepa Bar in the East Village for arepas. Further afield, we love Sripraphai in queens for Thai, Fiorentino's in Gravesend, Brooklyn for red sauce Italian, and the Bohemian Beer Hall in Astoria.

*The very cool New York Transit Museum is directly underneath Karen and Mike's building. It's truly great for kids, but also interesting for adults. It's just a 3 block walk from the Brooklyn Marriott.

*The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is right next to the Brooklyn Museum and is definitely worth a wander, maybe even just before the wedding if you wear comfy shoes!
